Approximately 7 years ago, my sister-in-law was in a severe car accident and treated at the St. Michael’s Hospital Trauma Centre. She was in a coma for over a week, with catastrophic physical injuries, including Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). We were so grateful to have Ingrid Kuran (Social Worker) there for us, to help us navigate our way through the legal and medical systems. Her professional experience and personal compassion was very much appreciated. She consulted with us to explain options available, and was there to console and help make recommendations. Our family will always be thankful for her help during this very traumatic time in our lives.

Thank you so much Ingrid for everything you did for me. I can't believe how much I improved and much faster than I thought. I was snowboarding earlier this month down black diamonds and working out again running, and also working away now at a job I am very happy with. Everything is back to normal besides the nerve damage in my foot that isn't fully there, but much better than almost sitting in a wheelchair for the rest of my life or not being around anymore.
I really learned a lot through everything that happened and again I can't thank you enough for everything you did for me in the hospital. It was some of the best advice I've ever had and it made me a much stronger person inside and out.

This is Ingrid Kuran, the social worker who works at St Mikes in the trauma unit. 8 months ago our son suffered an extensive injury and ended up being airlifted to St Michael's hospital in Toronto.
As a parent, you are overwhelmed with anxiety, anger and fear of the unknown. Well thanks to Ingrid, Donna and I were consoled, informed and left to feel a little more at peace with the process.
Too often we meet these people in life who touch our hearts or hold our hand and then they are forgotten once the dust clears.
Well Ingrid the dust has cleared and you are not forgotten by me, my wife, our son and all our family.
